Journal Voucher

Fund transfer between two parties can be done through Journal Voucher (JV) screen. Funds can be transferred from one entity party account to another entity party account (Inter Party JV).

To transfer fund:

  1. On the Accounts module, select Journal Voucher.

  2. In the JV Type drop-down, select Journal Voucher type.

  3. In the JV Date box, type or select the date on which you are posting the JV.

  4. In the Amount box, type the amount you want to transfer.

  5. In the Reference # box, type a unique number with which you want to identify the JV.

  6. In the Notes box, type notes (if any).

  7. In the Debit Account Details grid, select Account Type as Customer, Operational Entity, or GL Account from which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - Customer:

  1. In the Customer # box, type the customer number. You can also click to browse for a customer. The currency, customer name and balance are displayed.

  2. In the Open Item Bin drop-down, select the open item bin from which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - Operational Entity:

  1. In the Operational Entity list, select the operational entity code. You can also click to browse for an operational entity. The currency, operational entity name, and balance are displayed.

  2. In the Accounts list, select the account from which you want to transfer the amount.

  3. In the Open Item Bin drop-down, select the open item bin from which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - GL Account:

  1. In the Account drop-down, select the system account from which you want to transfer the funds. The Account Name and balance appear on the screen.

  2. In the Currency drop-down, select the currency.

  1. In the Credit Account Details grid, select Account Type as Customer, Operational Entity, or GL to which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - Customer:

  1. In the Customer # box, type the customer number. You can also click to browse for a customer. The currency, customer name and balance are displayed.

  2. In the Default Bin drop-down, select the bin to which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - Operational Entity:

  1. In the Operational Entity list, select the operational entity code. You can also click to browse for an operational entity. The currency, operational entity name, and balance are displayed.

  2. In the Accounts list, select the account to which you want to transfer the amount.

  3. In the Open Item Bin drop-down, select the bin to which you want to transfer the amount.

For Account Type - GL Account:

  1. In the Account drop-down, select the system account to which you want to transfer the funds. The Account Name and balance are displayed.

  2. In the Currency drop-down, select the currency.

  1. Click the Save button to transfer the amount from source entity to target entity.

The Debit account (Customer/Operational Entity/GL Account) is debited and the credit account (Customer/Operational Entity/GL Account) is credited with the amount transferred. You can view the funds transfer details in the Account Summary Screen for customer and operational entity. If payment is done towards a JV, the details can be seen in View Credit Allocation screen.

Note: By default, transaction date is value date if value date feature is enabled. Else, system date is displayed. You cannot post a transaction on other dates other than the value date and system date if value date feature is enabled.
