Inventory Sub-location is an identifiable area within the purview of inventory location where the materials are stored. Inventory sub-location helps in material segregation and easy retrieval.
One inventory location may be associated with multiple sub-locations. The stocks within an inventory location can be distributed among any of its sub-locations.
Inventory sub-location is an optional attribute and defined while defining inventory locations in Inventory Location Setup screen.

Within the same inventory location some user may have multiple inventory sub-locations to store the following items for different purposes:
Rental or loan return hardware items can be kept separately in a sub-location to make sure that those materials should be used only for future rentals or loans purpose
One time sale hardware items those are meant only for sale purpose can be stored in another sub-location, etc.
