Pre paid plan is a type of offering that includes various services with validity period and predefined usage and sold as a single unit. Generally, a Customer has to pay in advance and buy the prepaid plan to avail the services (like PPV, VoD, ISP and VoIP) in the plan for a particular duration or until the usage limit exhausts.
Prepaid plan is associated with a package. Rate plan is assigned to each package and used for rating the usage based services. Price should also be defined for each prepaid plan.
A prepaid plan can be a usage based or non usage based plan.
Validity period is the duration within which a customer is allowed to avail the prepaid services. During the validity period, the customer can top up and extend the validity of the plan.
Usage limit is the maximum number of usage unit set for each usage based services available in the prepaid plan.
However, a prepaid plan can be used as a Single Voucher. In single voucher model, the usage limit of any of the services in the prepaid plan can be used as the sum of all the services usage limits. In this case irrespective of the individual service usage limits, user can order up to maximum combined usage units on any of the services in the plan.
For Example: A prepaid plan has a PPV (NBA - Lakers vs Celtics) and VOD (Movie - The Inception) service and the usage limit is 100 and 200 respectively. So, the customer can use a maximum of 100 and 200 units for PPV and VOD service respectively. If the prepaid plan is marked as single voucher and usage limit is specified as 400 then the 400 units is used by the total package that is PPV and VoD combined irrespective of their individual usage limit.
